Aaron Jones Rev. AWL Jones (b. 1981) is a true Renaissance Style artist: He is an artist, poet, musician, black smith, sculptor, visionary computer designer, performer and DJ. Talented in many areas, he has been focusing on his sculptures and jewelry for its functional appeal, popularity and beauty.  He is inspired by metaphysical experiences as well as the natural world. Aaron is a trained metalsmith and has been working with metal for nearly 12 years.  He worked for 2 years as an apprentice to a black smith in Vermont.  He has also built custom fixtures for homes in Vermont as well as designed and created large permanant sculptures and featured art installations at Goddard College in Plainfield, VT. In 2006-2008 Aaron worked alongside Alex Grey in fabricating his metal art installations at Burning Man for Entheon Dome and worked as a part of CoSM art gallery in Chelsea, NYC. Aaron continues to explore playful metal art designs in jewelry, fountains, sculptures, and custom multi-media systems.

Artist's Statement

Photography in Motion

Aaron is an artist of many media.  He has used his experience with sculpting and metal shaping to create this series "Light Waves."  Inspired by what he could do artistically with a camera, Aaron set out to create images of light and energy.  He utilized the lights of "Christmas on the Square" in Prescott, AZ and also Las Vegas as his backdrops. He has explored the versatility of this medium and created captivating expressions of life through light and motion.  To create these he incorporated dance, movement and improvisation.   He has explored making these into backdrops for his multimedia performances in his band, "Dievolve."
